With carbon management becoming increasingly central to business,
governments and consumers across the world Dave Reay of GHGonline.org
and colleagues at the University of Edinburgh launched a new MSc
in Carbon Management in 2008. Our first cohort of 38 Carbon
Masters graduated in 2009, having completed a great year for us
all, including presentations to the Scottish Parliament and the
launch of their own carbon consultancy called' 'Carbon Masters'.
The group also launched their own Carbon
Management Google Group and set up the Edinburgh
University Carbon Management Society.
Since the inaugural year (2008-09) the programme intake has grown
to 50 Carbon Masters each year and has gone from strength to strength.
In December 2009 the Carbon Masters were delegates at the climate
change conference in Copenhagen and received a standing
ovation for their presentations alongside the Scottish Government
and the British Council.
Now in it's third year (2010-11) the programme has attracted
another great cohort, drawn from 17 nations and representing a
wealth of experience and different academic backgrounds. Applications
for study on the programme for the 2011-12 academic year are now
open.
The Masters programme is run jointly by the School of Geosciences,
School of Economics and Business School at the Universityof Edinburgh
. Applications are now being accepted for 2011-2012. Visit the
MSc
in Carbon Management programme webpage for information
on how to apply.
